Since being admitted to the California State Bar in 1978, Michael S. Feinberg has focused his practice and expertise on real estate-related litigation. He has represented diverse clientele in more than 75 trials and in hundreds of alternative dispute resolution forums. He has also handled multiple mass tort and arson cases.
Michael is well known for his caring and compassionate personal commitment to his clients who have suffered injuries and losses in power line-related fires, and his relentless dedication to see them through to a fair and just legal result.
Since 2007, Michael has represented hundreds of plaintiffs in power line fire cases including:
- Witch Creek Fire (2007, San Diego)
- Guejito Fire (2007, San Diego)
- Rice Canyon Fire (2007, San Diego)
- Las Conchas Fire (2011, New Mexico)
The Las Conchas Fire involved an 18-day trial, after which the jury ruled the utilities had negligently ignited the fire and harmed the plaintiffs. Led by Tom Tosdal, the team recovered millions of dollars for their clients in a settlement with one utility company.
Over the years, Michael has received a variety of awards and recognition, including:

Michael graduated from the University of Southern California in 1975 with high honors. He earned his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles in 1978, where he received the Oxford University Merit Scholarship in International Law. He also represented the State of California as a delegate to the Oxford University International Legal Studies Program in Oxford, England.
