CaseyGerry is investigating a data reach that may have affected more than 140,000 individuals. The company, Health Aid of Ohio, Inc. (Health Aid) reported the incident on their website.
According to the notice, the incident occurred on February 19, 2021 or around that date. The company noticed that an unauthorized party accessed their systems. Their investigation revealed that some files were viewed, and some may have been deleted.
Health Aid of Ohio, Inc. provides home medical equipment such as wheelchairs, ramps, respirators and more to individuals including those under the VA plan.
The investigation revealed that identifying and health-related information may have been exposed including, name, Social Security number, date of birth, phone number, medical diagnosis, and insurance information. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has estimated that at least 141,149 people were affected by the breach.
