21st Century Insurance Data Breach

Leading insurance company, 21st Century Insurance© has reported a cyber security attack that may have targeted and accessed individuals’ driver’s license numbers. 21st Century filed a breach notification with the State of California Attorney General’s office in May of 2021.

According to the report, the incident occurred between January 20 and February 12, 2021 when an unauthorized party attacked the company’s online automobile insurance quoting tool, with the goal of accessing individual’s personal information.

The company believes that individuals’ driver’s license numbers may have been accessed. Although the report does not indicate how many people were affected, the report states that some individuals who submitted real quote requests between January 20 and February 12, 2021 may also receive a notice of the breach.
