SAN DIEGO, Calif. – David S. Casey, Jr. and Gayle M. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Casey, Jr. is managing partner of CaseyGerry, San Diego’s oldest plaintiffs aw firm. His legal skills and landmark cases have had far-reaching consequences, impacting both consumers and the legal community. In March he was honored with a CLAY (California Lawyer of the Year) award for his work on the national VW Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) overseeing litigation targeting Volkswagen over its diesel emissions scandal. In 2017 he was appointed as liaison counsel for the Wells Fargo Multi-District Litigation (MDL) – national class action lawsuits that were consolidated following mounting reports the banking giant forced its car loan customers to buy unnecessary auto policies. He serves on the national PSC overseeing the Eco Diesel Litigation against Fiat Chrysler and on the PSC overseeing NFL head injury litigation. Additionally, he has helped raise important awareness about concussion safety and the growing controversy related to head injuries and potential brain damage in his representation of the family of deceased NFL player Junior Seau.
Blatt is head of CaseyGerry’s complex litigation practice group, handling high profile, multi-million cases. Earning a reputation nationwide for her skills and expertise, she has been appointed to prominent leadership roles in litigation related to global chip maker Intel for security flaws and technology giant Apple Inc. for device performance issues. She was appointed to serve on the Plaintiffs Executive Committee overseeing the nationwide class action litigation related to the massive data breaches revealed by Yahoo Inc. She also worked closely with Casey Jr. to help pursue litigation targeting the German auto giant VW over its diesel emissions scandal – the largest in consumer class action history – the work of David S. Casey Jr. and Gayle supported the more than $11 billion settlement.
