PASADENA, Calif. – With rain expected in the coming days, the City of Pasadena urges residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. According to the National Weather Service, rainfall totals are estimated between 1.5 to 3.0 inches in Pasadena, with mountain areas receiving 3.0 to 6.0 inches. The burn scar area is particularly susceptible to erosion, flooding, and debris flows, making preparedness essential to safeguarding lives and property. Residents in and around affected areas should take immediate measures to mitigate risks.

Sandbags: Pasadena residents can access free pre-filled sandbags, as well as self-serve sand and sandbags, at the following locations while supplies last. A maximum of 10 sandbags per resident is allowed with proof of residency. Contractors are not eligible.

  • Robinson Park (South Parking Lot) – 1081 N. Fair Oaks, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Victory Park (Parking Lot Along Altadena Dr.) – 2575 Paloma St, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Additionally, self-serve sand and sandbags are available at these fire stations:

  • Fire Station 37 – 3430 E. Foothill Blvd., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Fire Station 38 – 1150 Linda Vista Ave., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Debris Flow Prevention:

  • Install protective barriers to divert water and debris away from homes.
  • Keep gutters, downspouts, and storm drains clear to ensure proper water flow.

Safety Precautions: Rainfall in burn areas may create hazardous conditions. Follow these guidelines to stay safe:

  • Avoid Flood-Prone Areas: Do not walk or drive through flooded roads, trails, or streams. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
  • Evacuation Alerts:
