The San Diego-based law firm CaseyGerry is representing individuals in a class action lawsuit against University of California San Diego Health (UCSD Health) for a data breach that exposed sensitive health information of almost 500,000 patients, employees and others affiliated with company.
UCSD Health experienced a cyber security incident in late 2020 when an unauthorized third-party gained access to the company’s networks through a phishing scam. Hackers maintained access of the company’s systems from December 2020 to April 2021.
UCSD Health first reported the data breach in July 2021. In September, they filed an updated notice of breach with the California Attorney General’s office.

- Financial account information including security code and payment card (debit/credit card information)
