Real estate lender, Anchor Loans has reported a data breach that occurred on or before February 22, 2021. The company, which specializes in real estate investor loans primarily for property flippers, discovered that their systems were accessed by an unauthorized third-party, resulting in a ransomware attack on the company network.
In the notice of breach filed with the state of California Attorney General’s office, the company reported that their investigation revealed that several documents containing sensitive information had been compromised in the cyberattack, including identifying data such as name, Social Security number and/or driver’s license numbers.
The company provides investment loans in several categories including ‘fix-and-flip’ loans, construction loans, bridge loans and more.
