CaseyGerry law firm is investigating the injuries and pet fatalities linked to popular flea and tick collar, Seresto. Bayer’s Seresto flea and tick collars, have been linked to at least 75,000 injury reports with 1700 pet fatalities, and 1000 reports of injury to people.

The product is used as a flea and tick repellant for dogs and cats and has been on the market since 2012. The Center for Biological Diversity, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the earth’s biodiversity found that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had received at least 75,000 incident reports about the Seresto flea and tick collar. The documents showed that the EPA has been aware of the dangers posed to pets and humans. Yet, they have done nothing to address the issue.

Pet owners have reported injuries in pets ranging from a rash, neurological damage and even death. As concerning are the effects on humans resulting from close contact with pets wearing these collars. The injuries include, seizures, nasal and throat irritation, heart arrhythmia and fatigue.

In comparison to similar products on the market, reports of injury and death linked to Seresto Flea and Tick collar is disproportionately high. The documents obtained from the EPA show that the government agency tasked with protecting the public, was fully aware of the situation and have failed to take action to protect the public.
