CaseyGerry Teams with Experienced California Wildfire Attorneys to Form Power Line Fire Lawyers

Plaintiffs Seek Damages Following the 2017 California North Bay Fires

San Diego-based CaseyGerry recently joined forces with experienced California power line attorneys The Tosdal Law Firm and Temecula-based attorney Michael S. Feinberg to form the Power Line Fire Lawyers legal group.

Working together, we represent wineries, businesses and homeowners who have suffered significant injuries and damages as a result of the October 2017 California North Bay fires and have filed lawsuits against utility giant Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).

The California North Bay fires were massive, encompassing multiple wildfires in five counties – Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Butte and Lake – burning over 200,000 acres, destroying thousands of structures, taking the lives of 43 residents and topping an estimated $4 billion in losses. Damages included structure/home, tree, winery/vineyard and general business loss.

In order to coordinate the litigation against PG&E for pre-trial purposes in one county, last fall there was a motion to coordinate all the proceedings in the San Francisco Complex Litigation Dept. before San Francisco Superior Court Judge Curtis Karnow.

This type of litigation is called a Judicial Council Coordinated Proceeding (JCCP). By using a JCCP to hear the cases, one judge oversees pre-trial proceedings – eliminating duplication of efforts in the discovery process and wasted resources as well as minimizing the likelihood of inconsistent rulings on individual cases. As of now, more than 130 lawsuits have been filed against PG&E for its role in the California North Bay Fires.

The attorneys at California Power Line Fire Lawyers are actively investigating and are now working up our client’s damages– while memories are fresh. We have retained rebuild, tree (arborists and foresters) and personal property valuation experts.

If you or a loved one has experienced property damage, serious personal injury or winery/business loss as the result of the 2017 California North Bay fires, please contact our experienced attorneys. For more information, please visit Power Line Fire Lawyers.
