Wendy M. Behan, a partner with Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield LLP, has been elected first vice president of California Women Lawyers (CWL), the only statewide bar association for women.
She will play a leadership role on the CWL Board of Governors, which advocates for and advances issues that affect women in the legal profession.
Behan, who specializes in personal injury and pharmaceutical litigation, has served on the CWL’s Board of Governors and executive committee since 2011. She is a past president of the Lawyers Club of San Diego and currently serves on its advisory board.
Behan joined CaseyGerry in 1999 and was promoted to partner in 2010. Her past experience includes co-litigating lawsuits filed on behalf of American Prisoners of War who had been abused and exploited as slave laborers by Japanese companies during World War II.
A native of Orange County, Behan is a cum laude graduate of California Western School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and society from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
