New year, new laws…as we begin 2019, consumers should be aware of new legislation going into effect  in California this year.

When you have been injured or a loved one was killed in a motorcycle accident, you only have one shot to obtain the compensation you need for your medical bills, lost wages, pain, and suffering, and more.

Because of their reduced protection compared to that of a car, motorcyclists are at a higher risk of injury in the event of a collision. Below are a few common motorcycle crash injuries.

Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs is not just illegal; it’s extremely dangerous. Individuals who drive while intoxicated put themselves and everyone on the road at risk of a crash.

A distraction is anything that takes a driver’s hands off the wheel, eyes off the road, or focus away from driving. Just one second of distraction can cause a crash and injure or kill people.

Below are a few common causes of car crashes and what to do if you’re injured in one.

Violating the Rules of the Road

The California Vehicle Code aims to reduce crashes by providing clear rules for drivers of all types of vehicles as well as bicyclists and pedestrians.

No one expects a car accident to happen. However, more than 200,000 people sustain injuries in motor vehicle crashes every year in California. While it’s impossible to be ready for any injuries and property damage that may result if a crash does happen, there are ways to be financially prepared.
