CaseyGerry partner Gayle M. Blatt was recently named one of 50 Influential Leaders in San Diego by The Daily Transcript. The annual recognition, released in a special supplement published Sept. 5, 2018, covers a diversity of industries and highlights the city’s influential business leaders – with a goal of honoring professionals doing the most cutting-edge work in real estate, construction, development, law, finance and the public sector.
Blatt, who heads CaseyGerry’s complex litigation practice group, was featured for her work on high profile, multi-million cases, including her work with David S. Casey Jr. on class action litigation targeting VW following the diesel emissions scandal – resulting in the largest settlement in consumer class action history. Earning a reputation nationwide for her skills and expertise, she has been appointed to prominent leadership roles in litigation related to global chip maker Intel for security flaws and technology giant Apple Inc. for device performance issues. And last year she was appointed to serve on the Plaintiffs Executive Committee overseeing the nationwide class action litigation related to the massive data breaches revealed by Yahoo Inc. in late 2016. She is the only California attorney to serve on that committee.
Blast is also active in the community, serving as a board member of multiple entities including the San Diego County Bar Association Foundation and the Tom Homann Law Association Foundation.
“I’m trying to do my part too make the community more reflective of our world and to help open up opportunities for a diverse population, because I think it makes us all stronger.”
