CaseyGerry – San Diego’s oldest plaintiff’s law firm – has expanded its class action litigation practice team with the addition of veteran attorney Mark Ankcorn.
Ankcorn, whose practice has been concentrated on consumer actions, is joining the firm as an attorney of counsel and will work closely with partner Gayle M. Blatt in representing clients on complex litigation matters, including national class actions against the largest banks in the world. The firm is actively prosecuting cases against JPMorgan Chase Bank, Bank of America and Discover Financial Services, among others.
“Mark brings us a wealth of expertise, ranging from leading a team that prosecuted the largest financial services companies in the world to representing insurance companies in major health care fraud litigation,” said CaseyGerry’s managing partner David S. Casey, Jr. “His knowledge of finance, regulatory compliance and risk exposure will be particularly important to our class action work, as well as our personal injury and product liability practices.”
In addition to his legal career, Ankcorn is an ordained rabbi with a master’s degree in rabbinic studies from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles. From 2003 to 2006, he served as the senior rabbi of one of the oldest synagogues in New York City, Congregation Shaare Zedek, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. He also held a pulpit in Orlando, Fla., for two years. He lives with his wife and daughter in the San Elijo Hills neighborhood of San Diego.
