Worker Receives Settlement in Product Liability Case

Employer proven to be liable, and workplace safety awareness raised.

CaseyGerry partner Robert J. Francavilla obtained a $1.4 million settlement in a recent product liability case after his client’s employer, Specialty Manufacturing, knowingly disabled the operation guard on the door of a power press machine.

As a result, the plaintiff, a Laotian immigrant, was crushed, sustaining catastrophic injuries to his right arm. Francavila was able to prove his client’s employer liable, as well as raise important awareness about workplace safety.
