Wolfe Eye Clinic Data Breach

CaseyGerry is investigating a data breach that may have affected approximately 500,000 patients of Iowa-based company, Wolfe Clinic, P.C. (Wolfe Eye Clinic.)

According to the notice on the company’s website, the breach occurred on February 8, 2021 when an unauthorized party gained access to the company’s systems. News station News 7 KWWL reported that hackers stole personal and health-related information of past and current patients of Wolfe Eye Clinic and demanded a ransom to unlock the systems. The clinic reported that it did not pay the demanded ransom.

The compromised information included:

• Names
• Dates of birth
• Social Security numbers
• Mailing address
• Medical and health information
