SAN DIEGO, Calif. — David Casey, Sr. — founder of prominent plaintiffs’ law firm Casey Gerry Reed & Schenk — was recently honored by the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section’s Task Force on Plaintiff’s Involvement.

According to Janice Mulligan, the Task Force Chair and a partner with Mulligan and Banham, Casey earned this award in recognition of his lifelong dedication to the legal profession and for the many significant contributions he has made to the justice system. The honor was bestowed at a recent ABA reception held in Casey’s honor at the downtown Hyatt Regency hotel.

Now retired, Casey founded what is now known as Casey Gerry Reed & Schenk in 1947 to provide quality service for plaintiffs in civil litigation and personal injury cases. During a more than 50-year career, he has been the recipient of numerous professional accolades, including the Award of Honor from the San Diego Bar Association and the San Diego Press Club Headliner Award for Law and Justice. He was elected to the Lawyer’s Hall of Fame in 1999, and was a charter member of the California Trial Lawyer’s Association, the first President of the San Diego Trial Lawyer’s Association and Governor of the State Bar of California. In addition, he is a diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and of the

International Society of Barristers.

The American Bar Association (ABA) is comprised of plaintiff’s and defense attorneys, in-house counsel and judges. The Tort and Insurance Practice Section’s Task Force on Plaintiff’s Involvement was created to encourage participation by and recognize the involvement of plaintiff’s attorneys in the ABA.
