DuPage Medical Group Data Breach Affects 655,000 Patients

CaseyGerry is investigating a massive data breach that may have affected at least 655,384 patients of Illinois-based medical group, DuPage.

DuPage is the largest independent medical group in Illinois with more than 750 physicians across the state.

According to the company’s website notice of the data security incident, the breach occurred on July 13, 2021. An internal investigation revealed that between July 12, and July 13, 2021, the company systems were accessed by an unauthorized party. The investigation further revealed that patients’ personal health information and more was compromised in the breach.

Compromised data includes:

• Name
• Date of birth
• Address
• Social Security Number
• Information on medical procedures
• Treatment dates
