DAVID S. CASEY JR. NAMED ONE OF STATE’S MOST INFUENTIAL ATTORNEYS

SAN DIEGO — Casey Gerry recently announced that senior partner David S. Casey Jr. was named one of the “Top 100 Attorneys in California” for 2009 by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, one of the legal profession’s preeminent publications.

Highlighting the state’s most influential legal practitioners and academics, the list is compiled each year by Daily Journal staffers, and was published in a special supplement which appeared Sept. 23.

A third generation attorney, Casey was selected not only for his outstanding legal skills, but for his considerable involvement in the legal community locally and nationally.

Casey has spent more 30 years practicing law in San Diego. Specializing in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, he has obtained successful verdicts and settlements for dozens of high profile cases and was recently tapped by Senator Dianne Feinstein to chair the nomination process in California for Federal Judges, U.S. Attorneys, and Marshals.

In addition, he is past president the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now known as the American Association for Justice), past president of both the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and the Consumer Attorneys of California, and has been inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. A fellow of the International Academy of Barristers, he is the recipient of numerous awards, including the “Legal Professional of the Year” from the San Diego County Bar Association, and the USD’s Author E. Hughes Career Achievement Award.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College and a law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
