CASEY GERRY ASSOCIATE TO SERVE ON AAJ’S BOARD OF GOVERNORS

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Jessica E. Klarer, an associate attorney with San Diego-based Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield, LLP, has been elected to the board of governors for the new lawyers division of the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

She will serve a one-year term, working on various projects and activities related to AAJ membership.

Previously known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), the AAJ is the world’s largest trial bar, with 65,000 members internationally, including attorneys, law professors, paralegals and law students. The non profit organization is headquartered in Washington D.C.

Casey Gerry’s senior partner, David S. Casey Jr., is past present of ATLA, and is pleased that Klarer will continue the firm’s involvement in this important legal organization. “AAJ’s purpose is to safeguard victim’s rights and strengthen the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to the health and safety of the American public,” said Casey. “We are thrilled that Jessica will work to further this very important mission.”

Klarer received her J.D. from USD School of Law and worked as a certified law clerk at Girardi and Keese in Los Angeles prior to joining Casey Gerry as a law clerk in 2006. She was also a certified intern at the USD School of Law Civil Clinic and has received training from the California Academy of Mediation Professionals as a mediator.

She has a bachelor of A\arts degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, and in addition to her involvement with AAJ is a board member with the San Diego County Bar Association (New Lawyers Division), a member of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, the Consumer Attorneys of California, La Raza Lawyers Association and an associate member of the American Inns of Court (Honorable J. Clifford Wallace Chapter).
