CASEY GERRY ASSOCIATE TO SERVE AS SECRETARY OF SDCBA’S NEW LAWYER’S DIVISION

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2008 ) — Jessica E. Klarer, an associate attorney with San Diego-based Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield, LLP, has been elected secretary of the Young/New Lawyers division of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), the region’s oldest and largest law-related organization.

She will serve a two-year term, working on various projects and activities related to SDCBA community service.

A member of the Casey Gerry staff for nearly three years, Klarer is bilingual in Spanish and works closely with the firm’s Hispanic clientele, concentrating her practice on products and premises liability automobile collision, asbestos litigation and other serious personal injury cases. She is active both professionally and within the community, and also currently serves as the San Diego County liaison to the Women’s Caucus for the Consumer Attorneys of California and on the board of governors for the New Lawyers division of the American Association for Justice.

In addition, she is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, the Consumer Attorneys of California, La Raza Lawyers Association,  an associate member of the American Inns of Court (Honorable J. Clifford Wallace Chapter) and a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters – a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of children by creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, and received her J.D. from USD School of Law.

Klarer worked as a certified law clerk at Girardi and Keese in Los Angeles prior to joining Casey Gerry and was also a certified intern at the USD School of Law Civil Clinic.
